Why do we build houses for low-income families? According to a UN-Habitat report, the Philippines has a population of 109 million people and 3.7 million families (about 15.2 million people) in the informal settler category. Informal settlers are families living on land they do not own and living in structures made of found materials. As part of informal settlements, they do not have easy access to water, sanitation, and electricity. Many families now living at CSC Happy Homes (68 homes) were informal settlers.
The five new homes at CSC Happy Homes Village are done and 5 more employees at the Children’s Shelter of Cebu received the keys to their homes at a Turnover Ceremony on April 13. This was the culmination of a long project. Thanks to hard work by many people and generous donors the houses are now homes.

Share the joy!
