PhaseTwoCebu scholars live in various housing arrangements. In a way, they are a lot like college students all over the world–young people looking for a cheap (or free) place to stay while they go to school. Very few colleges have dorms in the Philippines, so that is not an option. Students live at home, in boarding houses, with relatives close to their school, rent a “bed space” (a bed in a room in a house), or just couch surf. Finding safe housing can be very challenging.

A couple of the female PhaseTwoCebuGroup scholars were struggling to find safe, affordable housing close to their schools. Their current situations had become unsafe or unmanageable.
So, Joel (Executive Director) and Linda (Social Worker) decided to help and look for some place for these scholars. A decent one-room apartment was found in a safe setting in a good location to get to school easily. Scholars get a housing allowance from PhaseTwoCebu, so Joel decided to rent the apartment using their housing allowance funds. Three female scholars moved into the apartment recently and they are enjoying getting used to their new, safe digs. Problem solved.
