We pulled up to the gate of the rural elementary school on a sunny, hot afternoon. There was a welcome sign complete with flowers and necklaces as we entered the school yard. Kids popped their heads out of their classrooms as we walked to the Learning Resource Center (LRC or library).

The school had received books from PhaseTwoCebu for their school library and we were there to see their set-up and meet the principal and teachers. What a fun group of people! We looked at their new library room, talked about how they were using the books, and brainstormed about how to help the students become more proficient readers.

It’s quite rewarding to see the books we send to Cebu in their new home. It’s even more encouraging to meet the teachers and kids who receive them. Their excitement about having books and grateful spirits help us know the effort put into creating each library is totally worth it. Thank you, Consolacion Elementary School!
