We just returned from a six-week trip to Cebu.
Some highlights:
- We took part in the 6th anniversary celebration for CSC Happy Homes and met the families who will be moving into the newly completed 5 houses at the back of the lot. We also met with government officials working on the low-income housing mortgages for the 5 new recipients of houses.
- We met with the scholarship recipients and came away impressed by their hard work and enthusiasm. Many are using our new office space on almost a daily basis to study and print school materials. We enjoyed an early Christmas party with them on the day before we left.
- Shari was able to lead two large “engaged reading” and “reading comprehension” workshops (about 70 librarians and teachers at each).
- We visited Ann and Cres Sabio and their community development work in Argao and Jacinta and Darwin Taipen and their community work in Nalhub.
