Teacher Ann lives in Argao south of Cebu City and she currently teaches at a large provincial high school. She and her husband, Cres, who is a pastor, have started a community outreach ministry where they live. Cres pastors three house churches and they run a reading/study program which includes summer study/VBS sessions and Saturday tutoring. We have supplied books for this ministry to create a small library. The books are used by Ann and Cres for the study sessions at their home, but they also use the books in a mobile libraries program they have started. Cres delivers books weekly to a few very remote small communities for kids to read.
To help accommodate the 30-40 children who come to their programs, PhaseTwoCebu provided the funds to build an outdoor covered classroom attached to their home.
PhaseTwoCebu currently assists three community projects in Argao, Nalhub, and Bulacao. These projects are initiated by people in their local communities and PhaseTwoCebu comes alongside the people initiating the programs to help them get their project going.
